How to Work with Opportunities
Introduction
This guide explains how to manage sales opportunities in Easy8. You’ll learn how to create and edit opportunities, generate quotes, and mark deals as sold. It also covers status handling, currency tips, and how to manage opportunity-related content.

Prerequisites
- CRM access via Global menu >> CRM
- Appropriate permissions to manage Opportunities
- Price Books configured if quoting products with prices
Viewing and Accessing Opportunities
- Go to Global menu >> CRM
- In the right sidebar, click Opportunities
Use the top menu tabs to switch between Forecast and Key Prospects.
Use public filters like Contracts won, Forecast, or My top deals to view subsets of your data.
To create a new opportunity, click New Opportunity.
Under the Data option in the sidebar, you can manage saved filters for your opportunities.
Understanding Opportunity Statuses
Statuses are configured in Administration >> CRM >> Opportunity statuses.
- Only for Admin: only Admins or Partial Admins can set this status
- Is WON?: marks an opportunity as sold and locks it from edits
Creating a New Opportunity
- Go to Global menu >> CRM >> Opportunities
- Click New Opportunity
- Fill in all required fields
- Click Save
Editing and Updating an Opportunity
- Open the opportunity and click Edit
- Make changes
- Click Save
To move an opportunity:
- Click More >> Move
- Fill in fields and click Move and follow
To delete an opportunity:
- Click More >> Delete
- Confirm deletion
Adding Sales Activities
To add:
- Click Add Activity or go to the Sales activities tab
- Fill in type, time, and details
- Click Save
To edit:
- Click the pencil icon on an existing activity
- Make changes and click Save
To delete:
- Click the trash icon
- Confirm by clicking OK
Working with Quotes
Creating a New Quote
- Open the opportunity
- Click New quote
- Fill required fields like Name, Currency, Brand
- Optional: enter Product version, Start and Due dates
- Click Save
Adding Items to the Quote
- In the quote row, right-click >> Add item
- Select products from Price Book
- Click Save
To edit items:
- Click magnifier icon to view items
- Change fields like amount, discount, or unit price
- Click Save
If no Price Book is used, currency exchange rates from global settings will apply.
Managing Quotes
Right-click on a quote to access these options:
- Show items
- Add item
- Generate quotation
- Make active
- Currency
- Edit
- Duplicate
- Delete (only inactive quotes)
Generating a Quotation
- Right-click the quote >> Generate quotation
- Choose a template
- Click Generate quotation
The generated file will be attached to the opportunity.
Making a Sold Opportunity
- Click Sold
- Review that all fields are complete
- Click Confirm deal and order service
This locks the opportunity and converts quote items into:
- Time-based contracts (e.g. licenses)
- One-time contracts (e.g. hardware)
Unlocking a Sold Opportunity
If needed, click Unlock to reopen the opportunity for edits.
Additional Functions
You can also:
- Add related task (existing or new)
- Add related account (existing or new)
- Add business role
- Assign to partner
All options are available via the More button in the sidebar.
