Understanding Working Time Templates
Definition
A Working Time Template (also called calendar) is a schedule setup that defines:
- The number of working hours per day
- Start and end time of the working day
- Days considered as working days
- Holidays and exceptions
- Which template is the default
Each template is editable and can be assigned based on user or project needs.
How It Works
Viewing the List of Calendars
Administrators can see all available working time calendars in a list view. Each row shows:
- Name of the calendar
- Number of working hours per day
- Default status
- Available actions: Detail of calendar, Edit, or Delete
Editing or Creating a Calendar
Clicking Edit or New calendar opens a form where administrators can set:
- Start and end time of the workday
- Number of working hours
- Days of the week considered working
- First day of the week
- Holiday import options via iCalendar
A checkbox allows setting this calendar as the default.
Detail of Calendar View
Each calendar shows a monthly view with daily working hours. Administrators can:
- See regular working days (e.g., 8.0 hours)
- Identify weekends (marked in red with 0 hours)
- Use the Edit button to make changes to specific days
- Set exceptions or overwrite rules for groups of days
This helps ensure that calendars reflect real-world schedules like company closures or reduced working days.
Accessing Holidays Configuration
On the right sidebar of the calendar screen, administrators can go to the Holidays section to configure public holidays or other non-working days.
Conclusion
Working Time Templates help define consistent and accurate schedules across Easy8. They control daily working hours, holidays, and exceptions. By setting templates, administrators can ensure better time tracking and planning across teams and projects.
