Using Time Tracking for Team Performance Monitoring

This tutorial shows you how to use Easy8’s time tracking tools to monitor team performance. You will learn how to analyze logged hours, identify trends, and spot under- or over-utilized team members based on actual time spent.

- You have access to Easy8.
- You have permission to view time entries for your team.
- Time tracking is correctly set up and used consistently.
Step 1: Open the Time Reports Page
- Go to Main menu >> Time reports.
- This page shows an overview of all spent time across tasks and projects.
- Use the filter bar to narrow results by:
- Project
- User
- Activity
- Date range
✅ You can analyze data from individual team members or groups.
Step 2: Customize Grouping and Display
- At the top of the Time reports page, use the Group by option.
- Choose how to display the data:
- By User – see total hours per team member.
- By Project – assess time distribution across teams.
- By Activity – identify which types of work take most time.
✅ You can group by multiple levels for deeper insights (e.g., User > Activity).
Step 3: Identify Trends in Workload
- Use Date range filters to compare past weeks or months.
- Look for patterns in:
- Who logs the most/least hours
- When peak workloads happen
- Which tasks or roles take the most time
- Use this information to adjust task assignments or plan resource usage.
Step 4: Export Data (Optional)
- After filtering or grouping, click the Export button.
- Choose CSV or PDF.
- Use this export to share insights with management or teams.
Step 5: Set Benchmarks and Track Improvement
- Based on past reports, define expected weekly or monthly hours per user or team.
- Regularly revisit the Time reports to see if teams meet targets.
- Use these benchmarks to support coaching, training, or process improvements.
