Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have:
- Asset and Configuration Management plugin active.
- User or Administrator access with permissions to create tables and widgets.
- At least one project created in your Easy8 system.
Using Asset and Configuration Management Tutorial
Step 1: Create your Custom table
- Go to Global menu >> Asset and Configuration Management.
- Click Create new table.
- Define the name, type, icon, and visibility of the table.
- Configure Relations to include Project or other entities as needed.
- Save the table and add any required custom fields.
Step 2: Add data (records) to the table
- Open the table from the overview.
- Click the New record button (the label reflects the table name, e.g., “New server”).
- Fill in the form and save the record.
- Repeat for as many records as needed.
Step 3: Show the data on the global level
- Open your My dashboard or other global dashboard.
- Click Customize >> Add widget.
- Select Assets & Configurations – List or Trends.
- Choose your table or saved filter to display records or charts.
- Save the widget and the dashboard layout.
Step 4: Show the data on the project level
- Open the desired Project dashboard.
- Click Customize >> Add widget.
- Add the same Assets & Configurations – List widget.
- Use a saved filter or table view relevant to the project.
- Save and verify that the widget displays the correct scoped data.
