Task Comments, History, and Time Tracking
Introduction
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use task comments, view task history, track spent time, and add reactions in Easy8. These tools help improve communication, transparency, and time tracking in project management. By the end, you’ll be able to manage all task-related collaboration features with confidence.

Prerequisites
- Access to Easy8 with permission to view and edit tasks.
- Basic knowledge of navigating tasks in the system.
How to Add and Manage Comments
- Open the Task
Go to the task where you want to write a comment. - Add a Comment
Click the “Update” button.
Write your comment in the text field.
Click “Submit” to save the comment. - Edit or Delete a Comment
Use the sprocket icon (context menu) on your comment.
Choose Edit or Delete.
How to Use Private Comments
- Access the Task
Open the task you want to comment on. - Add a Private Comment
Click “Update”.
Write your comment.
Check the “Private” checkbox before submitting.
Only users with appropriate permissions will be able to see this comment.
How to Link to a Specific Comment
- Locate the Comment
Find the journal entry/comment inside the task. - Copy the Link
Click the sprocket icon beside the comment.
Choose “Link to journal”.
This copies a direct link to that specific comment to your clipboard.
How to Add Reactions to Comments
- Go to the Task
Open the task where the comment is located. - Find the Comment
Scroll to the comment you want to react to. - Add a Reaction
Hover over the comment and click the emoji icon next to it.
Choose one of the available emoji reactions, for example 👍, ❤️, or 🎉.
Your reaction will appear below the comment.
How to View Task History
- Open the Task
Navigate to the task whose change log you want to view. - Scroll to the “History” Section
All updates, such as status changes, assignee changes, and comments, are listed here. - Show Full History
If only 10 records are visible, scroll down and click “Show all” to display additional records.
How to Track Spent Time on Task Detail
- Access the Task
Go to the task where you want to log time. - Log Time
You can log time in two ways:
- Edit the task using the “Update” button.
- Or click “Log time” in the right panel under More.
Enter the amount of time worked and fill in any additional details.
Click “Save”. - View Logged Time
Open the Spent time tab in the task detail.
Review the table with all recorded time entries.
