Introduction
This guide explains how to allow a non-admin user to perform global data imports in Easy8 by granting them partial administrative access specifically for import functionality.
Target audience
- Administrator
Prerequisites
- Access to the Administration section
- User account with partial administrative privileges
- URL access to the import interface:
/easy_entity_imports
Steps
1. Grant Advanced Import Permission to a User
- Go to Administration → Users
- Select the user you want to grant import permissions to
- Click the Edit button top right
- Scroll to the Partial administrator (left column) section in the user settings and check it
- Check the option Advanced Import
- Save the changes
Note: The user now has permission to perform global data imports, the same as a full administrator.
2. Access the Import Interface
- There is no direct menu link available for users with Advanced Import access
- The user must manually navigate to or bookmark the following URL:
/easy_entity_imports
This link provides access to the standard import interface where they can create and manage imports.
Results
- The selected user can create, edit, and run data imports across the system
- The user accesses the import tool via direct link instead of the admin menu
Troubleshooting
- User can't see import options: Confirm that the Advanced Import permission is enabled in the user's Partial Administrator settings
- Missing link or access error: Ensure the user navigates directly to
/easy_entity_importsand is logged in
