Introduction
This guide will show you how to migrate content from the original Knowledge Base (KB 1.0) to the new integrated Knowledge Base in Easy8. This is useful if you are already using the older plugin and need to transfer existing knowledge posts into the updated KB system. By following these steps, you’ll be able to validate, review, and migrate your content properly.

- Access to Administration >> Plugins >> Knowledge Base - Edit
- Basic understanding of article titles and structure in your old KB
How to Migrate from KB 1.0
Step 1: Access Migration Section
- Go to Administration
- Open Plugins
- Select Knowledge Base - Edit
Note: This section appears only if both versions of KB are activated.
Step 2: Start the Migration Process
- Click the Validate and migrate button
- The system will check all existing posts and split them into two groups:
- Seamlessly migratable posts – Migrated automatically
- Problematic posts – Listed for manual review
Step 3: Understand Problematic Titles
Some post titles might cause issues. For example:
- Slash ("/") – Interpreted as a subpage separator in the new KB
- Example: Title: How to create/update task
Becomes: How to create (main page) and update task (subpage)
Suggested change: How to create or update task - Illegal characters – Like > or &, which may be removed or replaced during migration
Recommendation: Edit these titles manually before migrating.

Step 4: Edit Problematic Titles
- Rename titles that contain disallowed or risky characters
- Click the Validate and migrate button again
- The updated post should now migrate properly
Step 5: Migrate Validated Articles Only
- If some articles still don’t pass validation:
- Use the Migrate properly validated articles button
- This will migrate only those that are ready and skip the rest
Important: Always review the results during migration to ensure correct structure and content.
