User + Administrator
Prerequisites
- Permission to manage and edit tasks
- Two or more tasks that are candidates for merging
- Access to the task list or individual task pages
How to Merge Tasks
Step 1: Open the Task You Want to Keep
- Go to the main task list or use filters to find the task that should remain after merging.
- Open this task — it will act as the destination for the merge.
- Note its title and ID to avoid confusion later.
Step 2: Select the Task to Merge
- Open the task that you want to merge into the first one.
- In the right sidebar, scroll to the More section.
- Click on the Merge task option.
- A dialog window will open where you can search and select the target task (the one you opened in step 1).
Step 3: Complete the Merge
- Confirm that you want to merge the tasks.
- All content from the second task (description, comments, attachments) will be transferred to the selected task.
- The merged task will be automatically closed, and its data will remain accessible in the history of the target task.
Troubleshooting
- Cannot find merge option: Ensure you have permission to manage both tasks.
- Data not visible after merge: Check the target task’s history and attachments tab.
Conclusion
You have successfully merged duplicate or related tasks in Easy8. This helps simplify task tracking and avoids confusion from overlapping content.
