Managing the Full Sales Process in CRM: From Lead to Signed Contract
This tutorial guides you through the complete sales workflow in Easy8 CRM — from capturing a lead to signing a final contract. It combines best practices from lead management, opportunity handling, quoting, and contract generation.
Prerequisites
- CRM plugin must be installed and active.
- You must have permissions to work with Leads, Opportunities, Quotes, and Contracts.
- Price books and products must be configured for quoting.

Step 1: Create and Qualify a Lead
- Go to Global menu >> CRM >> Leads.
- Click New Lead in the right sidebar.
- Fill in the lead details and click Save.
- To qualify the lead:
- Open the lead detail.
- Click Qualify.
- Fill out the opportunity form and click Save.
At this stage, a new Opportunity is automatically created from the lead.
Step 2: Work with the Opportunity
- Navigate to CRM >> Opportunities.
- Find your opportunity using filters or the data view.
- Open the opportunity to:
- Add a sales activity
- Add a related account or task
- Assign it to a partner
- Update fields as the opportunity progresses (e.g., status = “Negotiation”).
Notice
Opportunity statuses and visibility of some fields may be restricted to CRM admins based on your role permissions.
Step 3: Create and Configure a Quote
- In the opportunity detail, click New Quote in the right sidebar.
- Fill in:
- Name
- Currency
- Brand
- Optional: validity dates and product version
- Click Save.
The quote appears just below the attachments section.
- Right-click the quote to:
- Add item: select products from your price books
- Generate quotation: download a PDF offer
- Make active, Duplicate, or Delete
Warning
You can’t remove an active quote. Mark it inactive first.
Step 4: Mark the Opportunity as Sold
- In the opportunity detail, click the Sold button in the top-right.
- The opportunity becomes locked.
- All items in the quote are converted into contracts.
Use Unlock in the sidebar if you need to revise the opportunity.
Step 5: Review the Resulting Contract
- Go to CRM >> Contracts.
- Select your contract type (e.g., Software, Implementation).
- Find your newly created contract.
- Open its detail to:
- View assigned accounts and opportunities
- Launch additional actions like create upsale opportunity
Step 6: Archive and Report
- Use CRM dashboards and widgets like User Sales Targets to track sales results.
- Archive disqualified leads and closed deals for clean reporting.
- Apply templates to reuse your configured CRM pages.
