Introduction
Easy Gantt allows you to view resource allocations directly on your project timeline—if the Resource Management plugin is installed. This feature provides a clear view of how many hours are allocated across tasks and projects, helping you manage workloads effectively at both the project and global levels.
Target Audience
- User
Prerequisites
- Easy Gantt module enabled
- Resource Management plugin installed
- Tasks and projects loaded in the Gantt view
Steps
1. Enable Resource View
- Open your Easy Gantt chart (project-level or global)
- Click the Resources button in the top control panel
- If the button is not visible, ensure the Resource Management plugin is installed
2. Understand the Allocation Display
Once the feature is active:
- A second row appears under the timeline units (days/weeks/months)
- This row shows the sum of allocated hours from tasks
- It aggregates resource usage across:
- All visible projects in the timeline (global Gantt)
- Individual project bars (project Gantt)
3. Expand Subprojects Before Viewing
In project-level Gantt:
- Make sure to expand all relevant subprojects before switching to Resource view
- The integrated Resource Management display does not allow further tree expansion inside the resource view
- What is visible before activating Resources is what will be included in the view
Conclusion
Viewing resource allocations in Easy Gantt helps you assess workload distribution across tasks and projects. With a single click, you gain a visual summary of resource usage to ensure balanced and efficient planning—just remember to expand the needed project structures beforehand.
