How to Use Project Statistics
How to Use Project Statistics
Step 1: Add the Project Statistics Widget
To access project statistics, you need to add the relevant widget to your project dashboard.
- Look for the Personalize this page button, usually located at the bottom left of the project dashboard
- In the personalization options, select the desired statistics from the categorized boxes
- Click Save page and go back
Step 2: Review the Statistics Widget
Once the widget is added, you will see a sidebar with key project information. Here's what you can monitor:
- Due Date, Estimated Time, and Spent Time
- Indicator – The color of the indicator shows task status: Green (on track), Orange (overdue), Red (past due)
- Overall Activity – Displays all project activities in one list
Step 3: Set Project Completion Ratio
To add the project completion ratio to your dashboard:
- Click on the Customize this page button
- Select the Project Card Widget
- Click Save page and go back
The project completion ratio will appear in the sidebar. You can calculate the project completion using three different methods, which can be configured under Global menu >> Administration >> Settings >> Projects - Project completion calculation formula.
Step 4: Considerations for Project Completion Percentage
There are several other settings and situations that can affect the final project completion percentage (% done) that you should be aware of:
- Project with 0 tasks is considered 100% done: This can affect the main project if you have empty subprojects.
- % Done of a project in Project Overview and on Global Gantt: Does not count subprojects.
- Combination of using Task Status for % done on a task: When using the task's % done to calculate project % done, this is affected by the "Update task done ratio" button in Administration >> Task Statuses. If this button is not used, the % done is not calculated properly.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues:
- Missing template options: Ensure you have the required permissions to use the template.
- Template copying fails: Verify that the target project is compatible with the template (check data structures and settings).
