How to Build and Manage the Organizational Structure
Step 1: Access the Organizational Chart
- Go to Global menu >> Users >> Organizational chart
- Alternatively, access it via Administration >> Users
Step 2: Add the Top-Level User
- On the right side, you’ll see users not yet linked to any supervisor
- Drag the top-level user (e.g., CEO) and drop them into the empty space of the chart
- This user becomes the root of the hierarchy
Step 3: Add Direct Subordinates
- Drag users from the list and drop them on the top-level user
- This creates direct supervisor-subordinate links shown with connecting lines and colors
Step 4: Build Further Levels
- Continue by dragging other users and dropping them on their respective supervisors
- You can build an unlimited number of hierarchical levels
Step 5: Remove a User from the Structure
- Drag and drop the user back into the unlinked user list
- Note: You must first remove any subordinates before removing a user
Step 6: Change a Supervisor
- Drag a user and drop them onto a new supervisor
- All of their subordinates will move with them automatically
Alternative Method: From User Profile
- Open the user’s profile
- Find the field labeled Supervisor
- Click the link (e.g., nobody) to open the Organizational Chart
- Assign a supervisor directly from the chart
