This guide will show you how to display a Knowledge Base article on a project dashboard using the Knowledge Article widget in Easy8. This allows teams to quickly access up-to-date information directly from their dashboard view.

How to Add a Knowledge Article Widget to a Dashboard
Step 1: Open the Dashboard Customization
- Navigate to the desired project dashboard.
- Click the "Customise" button at the bottom of the dashboard.
Step 2: Add the Knowledge Article Widget
- In the widget list, go to General > Knowledge article.
- In the search field, type the article name and select it from the list.
- If the article is in a different namespace, use the format:
namespace:article. - Enter a custom name for the widget as it will appear on the dashboard.
- Click "Save the page and go back" to finish.
Result:
The selected article now appears as a widget on the dashboard. Any updates made to the article are reflected automatically in the widget.
Integrating Tasks with Knowledge Articles
Referencing a Task in an Article
- While editing the article, type # to open the Easy Task inspector.
- Enter the task number or name, then select the task.
- Click Insert or go to Insert > Easy Task Reference.
Associating a Task with an Article
- Under the article, find the "Associated tasks" section.
- Click "Add+".
- Enter the task number or name and click "Submit".
- The task reference will appear under the article and also on the task itself.
Associating Projects with Articles
- Find the "Associated projects" section below the article.
- Click "Add+".
- Enter the project number or name and click "Submit".
- The article will then be listed as related to the selected project.
