Easy Gantt makes it simple to adjust task and milestone dates using drag & drop. You can change start dates, due dates, durations, and even task completion—all directly on the timeline. This guide shows how to make these changes efficiently in the Gantt chart.

Steps
1. Enter Edit Mode in Gantt
- Open Easy Gantt
- Switch to edit mode using the Tools option
- Hover over a task bar to activate editing options
2. Update Task Timing
You can adjust timing by interacting with the task bar:
- Move Entire Task
- Drag the whole task bar left or right
- This shifts both start and due dates
- Change Task Duration
- Stretch or shrink the task bar from the edges
- This changes the duration without changing the start date (left edge) or due date (right edge)
- Adjust Task Completion
- Drag the small rider (handle) on the bar to update % completion
Even for short tasks, you can easily grab and adjust specific parts like dates or progress thanks to clear operational elements and rounded task edges.
3. Handle Tasks with Missing Dates
- Missing start date → No visible left edge
- Missing due date → No visible right edge
- Missing both → No bar on the timeline
When you drag and drop such a task in Gantt, both the start and due dates are automatically set.
4. Update Milestone Timing
- Click and drag the milestone icon across the timeline
- Drop it on the desired due date
- The change is applied immediately
