Prerequisites
- The Project scrum board module must be enabled
- The sprint must already be created and active
- You should have access to the Sprint Overview and Team Sprint Board
How to Monitor and Optimize Sprints
Step 1: Access the Sprint Overview
- Go to your project
- Click the Scrum board tab
- Open the Sprint overview
You’ll see all active and completed sprints along with statistics like:
- Sprint status (In progress / Finished)
- Start and due date
- Number of tasks done
- Total and remaining estimate
- Sprint goal
📊 This view gives you high-level control over sprint delivery and pacing.
Step 2: Drill Down into Team Boards
- From the Sprint Overview, click on the linked Team Sprint Board
- Review the task cards and sticky notes
- Use swimlanes (e.g., by user or by goal) to see distribution
Use this board in stand-up meetings to:
- Identify blocked or delayed tasks
- Reassign work if needed
- See who is overloaded or underloaded
🎯 Sticky notes and swimlanes make it easy to act quickly during the sprint.
Step 3: Track and Compare Velocity
The Sprint overview shows how much effort was planned vs. delivered in each sprint:
- Total vs. completed time estimates
- Story point velocity (if enabled)
- Progress bar per sprint
Use this data to:
- Adjust scope mid-sprint if needed
- Identify capacity issues
- Improve estimates in future sprints
Step 4: Close and Reflect
When the sprint ends:
- Use the Sprint overview to mark it finished
- Review unfinished tasks and decide what to carry forward
- Use the board's visual indicators for team retrospectives
✅ Completed tasks and actual delivery data will stay available for future comparisons.
Conclusion
Easy8 gives you multiple tools to monitor and improve sprint execution — from team-level boards with sticky notes to overview metrics and visual tracking. Use both during and after the sprint to deliver better results over time.
