Introduction
This article explains how to import events from any external iCal-compatible calendar (such as Google Calendar or Outlook) into your Easy8 Calendar. This allows you to view external events alongside your internal meetings, tasks, and attendance entries.

Prerequisites
- A valid iCal URL from an external calendar provider
- Permission to edit your own user profile in Easy8
- Access to the Calendar module in Easy8
Steps
1. Add External Calendar to Your Profile
- Open your User Profile.
- Click the Edit button.
- Scroll down to the right-hand side and click Add calendar.
- Enter:
- A name for the external calendar
- The iCal URL from the external provider (e.g. Google Calendar, Outlook)
- Click Save to confirm the calendar connection.
Note: Users must have permission to edit their own profile. If not, this option will not be visible.
2. Enable the External Calendar in Easy8
- Open the Calendar module from the top menu.
- Click the Calendar settings icon (gear icon).
- Scroll to the External calendars section.
- Find the calendar you just added and select it.
- Click Save to apply the setting.
Your external calendar will now be visible inside Easy8's Calendar module.
Results
- Events from the connected iCal calendar will appear in your Easy8 calendar view.
- You can view both Easy8 and external events in one place.
Troubleshooting
- External calendar not visible in settings: Make sure the calendar was saved correctly in your profile.
- Can't find “Add calendar” option: Ensure you have permission to edit your user profile.
- Events not syncing: Check the validity of the iCal URL and your internet connection.
