How to Filter & Customize Task Display in Gantt

Easy Gantt gives you flexible options to filter tasks and customize how they are shown. Depending on whether you are working at the project or global level, you can control task visibility, filter projects, and configure displayed columns for better clarity and focus.

Steps

1. Use Filters in Project-Level Gantt

Open Easy Gantt in a project
Above the timeline, use the available task filters to show only specific tasks
You can also apply project filters to narrow down the scope
Filter by properties such as:
- Status
- Assigned user
- Priority
- Start or due dates

This helps you focus only on tasks relevant to your work.

2. Use Filters in Global-Level Gantt

In the global Gantt, only project filters are available
This view is designed for managing projects, not individual tasks
Apply filters to view only selected projects in your portfolio

3. Customize Columns

Above the Gantt chart, you can configure visible columns to match your needs
Common columns include:
- Task name
- Start date / Due date
- % Done
- Estimated time

In project-level Gantt, the following column distinctions apply:

Estimated time = estimated time for tasks

Estimated time (projects) = estimated time for the overall project

Total estimated time = total across tasks + subtasks

Total estimated time (projects) = total across project + subprojects

In global-level Gantt, only project-related columns are available:

Estimated time = per project

Total estimated time = includes subprojects
