How to Customize Scrum and Kanban Settings and Add Agile Widgets to the Dashboard
Introduction
This guide explains how to configure Scrum and Kanban boards and how to add Agile widgets to your personal and project dashboards in Easy8.

Prerequisites
- Scrum/Kanban modules enabled
- Admin rights for customizing settings and dashboards
Customize Scrum and Kanban Board Settings
Step 1: Access Board Settings
- Open the Global menu
- Click either Scrum Boards or Sprint Dashboard to open the board overview
- Select a specific sprint and click Settings from the sidebar to adjust board configuration
Step 2: Configure Status Columns and Behaviors
- Add new Kanban states (columns) or rename existing ones
- Define which task statuses will automatically move to which columns ("contains these task statuses")
- Set automatic task status and assignee updates when moving between columns
- Choose what information is displayed on cards:
- Subtitle: shows under the task name
- Value info: numerical data for burn down charts and column volume
- Additional visuals: avatar, dates, tracker icons
- Enable or disable workflow logic
- Click Recalculate statuses (Scrum only) to apply settings immediately
- Finish with Update to save changes
🛈 Recommendation: Use Estimated time or Story points as Value info for accurate Scrum planning. Avoid "Estimated - Spent time" unless for specific custom use cases.
Add Agile Widgets to a Dashboard
Widget Configuration Options
Custom Kanban Board
- Allows full control over column definitions, filters, sorting, and visuals on task cards
- Can define statuses, assign behavior per column, and display avatars, dates, and trackers
Project Kanban Board
- Displays a board per selected project with optional swimlane breakdowns
- Checkbox to show only tasks assigned to the logged-in user
Project Scrum Board
- Similar to project kanban board, but tailored for sprints
- Offers swimlane options and personal task filtering
Sprint Overview
- Displays aggregated sprint metrics and values across projects
- Allows sorting, grouping, filtering, and choosing how to visualize task and sprint data
Step 1: Open Edit Mode
- Go to My Dashboard or a Project Dashboard
- Click Customize in the bottom-left corner
Step 2: Select an Agile Widget
- In the widget selector, scroll to the Scrum/Kanban section
- Available options:
- Custom kanban board
- Project kanban board
- Project scrum board
- Sprint overview
Step 3: Add Widgets in a Project Kanban Tab
- In a project-level Kanban tab, available widgets include:
- Custom kanban board
- Noticeboard (for instructions, team notes, etc.)
Step 4: Save Changes
- After placing your widget, click Save page and go back
