How to Create Chart Based on Custom Table Data
Introduction
This guide will show you how to create a chart based on data from Custom tables (Assets & Configurations) and display it on dashboards. The chart is created by preparing a saved filter with a chart, which is then displayed using the Assets & Configurations – List widget.

Before starting, ensure you have:
- Access to dashboards.
- Custom tables created and filled with data.
- Correct permissions to view the table and manage saved filters.
How to Create Chart Based on Custom Table Data
Step 1: Create a saved filter with a chart
- Go to Global menu >> Asset and Configuration Management.
- Select the Custom table you want to use.
- Apply filters as needed to define the dataset you want to visualize.
- Change the view to Chart.
- Select the chart type (bar, line, pie).
- Adjust grouping and other chart settings.
- Click Save as and give the filter a name (this saved filter will include the chart).
Notice
Charts for Custom table data can only be displayed on dashboards via saved filters. Always make sure you create the saved filter first including the chart configuration.
Step 2: Add the Assets & Configurations – List widget to dashboard
- Open the desired dashboard (My dashboard, Project dashboard, Feature dashboard).
- Click Customize.
- Select Add widget.
- In the Assets & Configurations section, choose List.
- In the widget settings, select the saved filter with the chart you created in Step 1.
- Confirm the widget and place it on the dashboard.
Step 3: Save the dashboard
- Click Save to finish the setup.
- The chart from the saved filter will now display inside the List widget.
Troubleshooting
- Check if the saved filter includes a chart view.
- Verify you selected the correct saved filter in the widget settings.
- Ensure the Custom table has data matching your filter.
