How to Configure Global Resource Management Settings
Introduction
This guide shows how to access and configure the global Resource Management settings in Easy8. These settings define how hours are allocated, tasks displayed, and capacities calculated across all users and projects. Proper configuration ensures accurate planning and helps avoid overloads.

Prerequisites
- You must be logged in as an administrator
- Resource Management must be enabled
- Go to Global Resource Management >> Resource settings (top-right corner)
Global Resource Management Settings Overview
1. Working Time Settings
- Hours per day – Max allocable hours for users without personal limits
- Manual hours definition – Define custom hours for each day of the week
2. Default View and Zoom
- Default zoom – Select default time view: Days, Weeks, Months, etc.
3. Task Allocation Logic
- Default allocator – Set how hours are spread over the task duration:
- From start
- From end
- Evenly (slow)
- Future from start
- Future from end
- Future evenly
- Change allocator – Allow users to modify the allocator per task
4. Task Dates and Capacities
- Show soonest start – Respect task relations or parent limitations
- Show latest due date – Display latest valid task end date
- Free capacities – Toggle between showing allocations or free time
5. Visibility and Display Options
- Show total project allocations – Visible only in project-level RM
- Show groups – Display user groups in global RM
- Show project allocations by default – Activate "With Projects" filter by default
- Planned tasks toggle button – Show/hide planned tasks in view
6. Capacity and Safety Controls
- Watchdog – Alert when task allocation overloads user
- Decimal allocation – Allow hour values like 0.5 (use period, not comma)
- Enable reservations – Prevent task assignment in blocked hours
- Enable holidays for groups – Reduces group availability if members are on holiday
Individual User Settings
- Estimated time ratio – Multiply task estimate for slower/faster users
- Hour limit per day – Override default working hours per user
Group Settings
- Estimated time ratio – Same as user but applies to group level
- Hour limit per day – Set group-wide working capacity or inherit from members
