What Is File Versioning?
File versioning is the ability to replace an existing file with a new version while keeping a full record of previous uploads. Older versions remain available for download, review, or restoration.
New Version of Attachment
To upload a new version of a document:
- Click the “New version” icon (third icon from the left) next to the file you want to update. The icon resembles a document with a plus sign.
- This opens the upload dialog where you can click or drag a file to upload.
- Supports bulk upload. Max file size: 5 MB.
- Click Save to complete the upload. The file will be updated while the previous version remains accessible.
Show Version History
You can view the complete version history of any document:
- Click the “Version history” icon (fourth icon from the left), which looks like a list with bullets.
- This opens a panel displaying all previous versions with timestamps and file sizes.
- Each version includes options to Download, Delete, or Revert to this version.
Why It Matters
File versioning ensures that every document update is safe and recoverable. It reduces the risk of data loss and improves team productivity by keeping the full history of changes available at any time.
