Introduction
The Dashboard Customization section in Administration allows administrators to manage dashboards across Easy8. System dashboards, user-specific dashboards, project dashboards, and custom dashboards can all be viewed, edited, or created from this area. It helps ensure users and projects have the right views for their needs.

Understanding Dashboard Customization
Definition
Dashboards are pages in Easy8 that present important data and widgets. Each dashboard can be scoped to a user, a project, or be global. The customization interface allows admins to control what dashboards exist and how they behave for users and groups.
How It Works
When an administrator enters the Dashboard Customization section, a list of all dashboards in the application appears. These are grouped into categories:
- System dashboards like “My Dashboard” or “CRM project dashboard”
- Project dashboards for specific project types
- Custom dashboards created for reporting or team use
- Feature dashboards connected to internal Easy8 features (these cannot be deleted or heavily modified)
System Dashboards and Templates
Clicking Templates Overview for a system dashboard (e.g. “My dashboard”) shows available templates based on user roles, such as:
- C-Level Manager
- Project Manager
- Scrum Master
- Team Member
- External
These templates can be edited directly and are later applied automatically based on user type.
Project Dashboard Templates
Each project dashboard can have templates assigned to it as well. Examples include:
- Waterfall project (for regular projects)
- SCRUM project overview (for Agile)
Templates can be modified via the in-row menu (edit, duplicate, export, delete).
There are more system dashboards related to certain area of the application like CRM, Helpdesk, Risks and Kanban.
Custom Dashboards
Custom dashboards like “Reporting” or “Team operations – Developers” are created by admins or users for specific needs. These appear in the same list and can be edited with the standard Customize option. They are also accessible from the Select Dashboard dropdown in the top left corner.
Creating a New Dashboard
From the right-side menu, administrators can choose New dashboard, then:
- Set a title, identifier, and description
- Choose layout (e.g. header, footer, sidebar)
- Set scope (user, project, or global)
- Choose visibility and editing permissions
After saving, the dashboard appears in the list and can be customized using widgets.
Feature Dashboards
Some dashboards are connected to core Easy8 features and are found under Feature dashboards. These cannot be deleted, and only basic options (tags and permissions) can be set.
Conclusion
Dashboard Customization in Administration provides centralized control over all dashboard types. System and project templates ensure consistency, while custom dashboards support reporting and team needs. Administrators can manage visibility, layout, and content to align the UI with company goals.
