This is useful for managing working calendars, attendance categories, and system defaults that affect attendance records. By following these steps, you'll be able to set up calendars and adjust how attendance data is recorded.
Target Audience
- Administrator
Prerequisites
- Administrator access
- Permission to access Attendance settings from the Global menu
- Understanding of your organization's work schedule and holidays
How to Configure Attendance Calendar Settings
Step 1:
Go to the Global menu > Attendance > Attendance settings.
Step 2:
In the Attendance settings, go to the All working time calendars section.
Step 3:
You can either select from existing calendars or add a new custom calendar using the button on the right.
Step 4:
When adding a new calendar, fill in the following fields:
- Name of the calendar
- Start and end time of the workday
- Working hours per day
- Working days per week
- Whether it is the default calendar
- Optionally, import holidays using an ICS file
The values set here will influence what is pre-filled in the attendance entry form (like arrival/departure time). These can still be adjusted manually per record.
Step 5:
You can now edit the calendar in more detail:
- Add working exceptions
- Modify working hours for specific days
Step 6:
Understand how this impacts attendance logging:
- If manual time entry is allowed, users can enter From–To time manually.
- If using preset options, users can select:
- All day – from start to end of work time in the calendar
- Morning – from start of work to halfway
- Afternoon – from halfway to end of work
Conclusion
You have successfully configured attendance calendar settings. With custom working calendars and holiday imports, your attendance tracking can now reflect your real working schedule more accurately.
