Activating Scrum/Kanban on a Project

Introduction

To manage work visually using Agile principles, Easy8 provides two powerful tools: Scrum boards and Kanban boards. These boards help teams organize, track, and deliver work efficiently. This article explains how to activate these features in a project using project-level controls.

To enable them in a specific project, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Project Controls

  1. Open the project where you want to enable Agile boards.
  2. In the upper-right corner of the project, click on the Project controls icon (sliders icon).
  3. From the dropdown, select Modules.

2. Enable Agile Board Features

In the Settings – Modules screen:

  • Tick the checkbox for Project scrum board to activate the Scrum board tab.
  • Tick the checkbox for Kanban board to activate the Kanban tab.
  • Click Save.

Once saved, the corresponding tabs will appear in the project’s top navigation bar:

  • Scrum board tab
  • Kanban tab

This makes the respective boards available for team collaboration.

3. Accessing and Using the Agile Boards

After enabling, you can:

  • Open the Scrum board tab to create and manage sprints.
  • Open the Kanban tab to visualize and track tasks across statuses.

Use the Project controls >> Modules path at any time to adjust which boards are available.

4. Agile Widgets on Dashboards

To add Agile board widgets to dashboards:

  1. Open any dashboard.
  2. In the widget selection menu (Select widget from list), scroll to the Scrum/Kanban section.
  3. Choose from:
    • Custom kanban board
    • Project kanban board
    • Project scrum board
    • Sprint overview

This allows you to monitor and interact with Agile boards directly from your dashboard.
