How much does Jira Data Center cost?
Jira Software Data Center, Atlassian's self-hosted (on-premises) edition, starts at $59,000 per year for the smallest tier of up to 500 users, billed annually. The price rises in steps by user tier, and the largest tiers are quoted rather than published.
The fee covers the licence only, so servers, databases, backups and admin time come on top, and Marketplace apps are billed at the same user tier as the instance. Atlassian raised Data Center list prices by 15% on all tiers on 17 February 2026 and stopped selling new Data Center licences to new customers on 30 March 2026. Existing customers can still renew, but Data Center reaches end of life on 28 March 2029, when instances switch to read-only.

How much does Jira cost per year?
There is no single annual price for Jira: it depends on the plan you choose and how many users you have. Jira Cloud is free for up to 10 users, and on paid plans list pricing works out at roughly $78 to $95 per user per year on Standard and $145 to $175 on Premium, so a 300-person team pays around $23,500 a year on Standard or $43,500 on Premium.
Can Jira be installed on-premises?
Jira Data Center remains the only Atlassian-supported option for on-premises installation, deployable on your own physical hardware, virtual machines, or Kubernetes clusters. However, it faces end of life by March 2029, with no new licenses or renewals after March 2028, after which it becomes unsupported and read-only.
Jira Server, the original self-hosted edition, ended support on February 15, 2024, and is no longer available for new deployments.
For organizations requiring high-level security in a self-managed environment, Easy8 provides a robust on-premises alternative with enterprise-grade encryption, role-based access controls, GDPR compliance, and seamless Jira data migration tools. This ensures continued data sovereignty and ongoing updates without Atlassian's impending EOL constraints.
