Introduction
This guide shows you how to create and manage Diagrams in Easy8. Diagrams help visualize information and simplify the understanding of complex systems. With Easy8’s built-in diagram editor (similar to draw.io), you can create UML or other diagram types directly within tasks, dashboards, knowledge base, requirements, or test scenarios—without the need for external software.

Prerequisites
- The user role must have the Manage diagrams permission (Administration → Roles and permissions → Global permissions)
- To link a diagram to a task, enable the Diagrams field on the tracker's settings (Administration → Trackers)
How to Use the Diagrams Feature
Step 1: Access the Diagram Tool
- Go to the Global menu → Diagrams
- You will see a list of existing diagrams and the option to create a new one
Step 2: Create a New Diagram
- Click the Create New Diagram button
- Enter a name for your diagram
- Optionally, link it to an existing task
Step 3: Use the Diagram Editor
- The editor includes tools and shapes in the left sidebar and customization options in the right sidebar
- Top menu options include: File, Edit, View, Arrange, Extras, Help
- Customize your canvas and use drag-and-drop to design your diagram
- Save the diagram using the button in the top right corner
- Click Leave to return to the diagrams list
Step 4: Manage Existing Diagrams
In the diagram list view, each diagram has the following options:
- Embed link: Displays the diagram in a comment using a shareable link
- Show: Opens the diagram in a pop-up
- Edit: Reopens the diagram in the editor
- Create a template: Saves the diagram as a reusable template
- Delete: Permanently removes the diagram (cannot be undone)
Step 5: Import and Export Diagrams
- Import: Go to File → Import and upload an XML file
- Export: Go to File → Export, choose a format and name, and click Export
Step 6: Link Diagrams to Tasks
- Enable the Diagrams field on the appropriate tracker
- In the task, select and view the linked diagram directly
